The widespread exhibition “Panorama Monferrato” in 15 locations.
Dialogue as meaning (and art). The itinerary of “Italics” between roots, identity and the sacred.
15 venues, 4 countries, 63 artists, more than 200 works, including paintings, sculptures, photographs and installations. In one year, curator Carlo Falciani studied the territory, identified the countries, chose the locations, conveyed the meaning (to administrators). He explains, “Vignale was an indication. I chose the other villages around, as if it were a journey, an itinerary. For this I was inspired by Guazzo’s Civil Conversation. Those who come from outside will have to understand the roots. And those who welcome will have to understand the outsider.”
Dialogue as meaning. Between ancient and contemporary there are openings, not censures. The very anatomy of the exhibition, Falciani says, “is conceived as an itinerary, a dialogue between forms, identity and time.”
In Montemagno the venue is a castle and ossuary, In Camagna an abandoned cottolengo, in Castagnole it is a schoolteacher’s house. In Vignale, the venue is Palazzo Callori.
