Come la politica condiziona l’arte

IX-II-MMXXIIII

Does politics condition art?

How and why do dictatorships seek to establish rules to which art must adhere? What is the reason the United States has committed resources and tools to play a central role in the art world? These important questions are addressed by art critic Demetrio Paparoni in his book. It’s interesting because it sheds light on the often invisible relationships between art and power.

Contro le mostre

XXIX-I-MMXXIIII

It is an Italian trend: always the same exhibitions, around ten thousand a year, designed to entertain the same audience again and again. According to Tomaso Montanari and Vincenzo Trione, we should start doing serious, educational and free exhibitions again. All the arguments on this issue can be read in a 2017 book, published by Einaudi, entitled Contro le mostre (Against exhibitions).
It is interesting because public exhibitions are important both to entertain and to form a taste and grow new knowledgeable collectors.

“VICEVERSA” is Giorgio Cardazzo Catalani’s solo exhibition of twenty works, divided into three rooms in which mirroring material and words become central elements of all the works on display.

Cardazzo Catalani creates a connection between the work and the viewer that develops in two ways: through his own reflected face, or by inviting the public to become the keeper of words capable of evoking reactions or reflections.
